Registrar Lock
Understand how the Registrar Lock method functions and also how it helps you secure your domain name.
Transferring an active domain involves switching the registrar that provides the domain name registration service, so after the transfer, you’ll have to manage things like renewal payments or DNS record modifications through the new registrar company. The transfer process itself is standard with most top-level domain name extensions. Certain country-code extensions are more specific and entail different steps, but in the general case transferring a domain name involves a few basic procedures and one of them is unlocking the domain. The lock is a security feature, which is being embraced by more and more domain registry organizations. It is a default feature supported by all gTLDs. If a domain is locked, it will be impossible to initiate a transfer process, so nobody can even try to register your domain name. The lock can be removed only through the account where the domain name is registered and all new domain names that support this feature are locked by default when they are registered.

Registrar Lock in Shared Web Hosting
With a
Linux shared web hosting from our company, you’ll exert total command over your domain names through our custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel. You will be able to do anything you’d like, including locking & unlocking any of the domains registered through our company, provided that the specific generic or country-code Top-Level Domain extension supports this feature. Clicking the padlock symbol that you’ll see next to any domain name registered in your Hepsia Control Panel will show you its current status and clicking it for the second time will enable you to edit that status. If you’d like to transfer a domain to another registrar company, you can start the process immediately. Since unlocking a domain name through your Hepsia Control Panel will take effect immediately, no propagation period or any action on our end will be required. Locking a domain is just as easy – you will just have to go through the very same steps.

Registrar Lock in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Managing your domains with us is unbelievably easy and the registrar lock option makes no exception. If you have a
semi-dedicated server account, you’ll be able to manage the domain names registered through us using the very same Control Panel via which you’ll administer your web hosting account. For the sake of convenience, the domain names will be listed in alphabetical order and on the right you will notice a padlock-like icon in case the given domain supports the registrar lock option. If you click on the icon, you’ll see whether the specific domain name is locked or not and you will be able to modify this status by clicking once again. The status will be updated straight away and you will be able to start the transfer without the need to wait for the change to be displayed on WHOIS lookup websites or for our company to do anything on our end.
